(PLEASE NOTE THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO MITES AND NOVICE FAMILIES AS THEY ARE NOT AFFECTED BY THIS)
SMHA Members,
As you know COVID has been creating multiple obstacles for our lives and hockey season. In moving forward SMHA continues to operate with the best intentions of our members, and the goal of operating quality programming during ever changing times. For our U11-U18 programming our geographic zone of play has been ever decreasing.
With that in mind, please provide us feedback regarding the following options, so we can continue to adapt and provide a hockey season for our children.
1. Continue with the status quo - Teams that are able to keep travelling to play do so, while others may need to just practice.
2. Cease travel game play:
a. but continue to practice as our own separate teams (as we currently do) and run our own programming; intersquad, small area games, drills etc.
b. Cease travel play, but continue to practice as our own separate teams, and on weekends split into groups within our age divisions and play 3 on 3. This will require a calendar count of 14 days since the last group played.
c. Cease travel play, disperse out of our picked teams for the time being and move into full house league play, creating new cohort groups throughout our own association. This will require a calendar count of 14 days since the last group played.
There is an attached Form we are asking you to fill out and give SMHA Input on how you as members would like to see the season proceed until regular game play can continue. Please note we will be deciding at our next board meeting this week so please complete prior to Monday at 5pm. SMHA Board will make the final decision but your input is greatly appreciated.
