SMHA has been advised by the SRC that AHS has received several complaints in regards to our spectators not wearing masks in the building. Two teams were identified directly, although we are aware this is happening in the stands/lobby with other teams as well and wanted to pass this along so we are all aware of the situation and consequences if not changed.
You MUST wear your mask at all times while in the facility, which includes in the stands. It is also up to us as adults to monitor our children and ensure that they are all wearing their masks into the facility and keep them on until such time as they are ready to go onto the ice.
If we do not comply with these restrictions we may lose the ability to have spectators in the building, as well as teams will loose their ice privileges and will be at the team expense (see letter from SRC). The SMHA Board is asking that whatever your belief or feelings on the matter is, please comply with the restrictions so that we can continue to use the facility and our children are able to stay on the ice.
Also please note Capacity in Red Arena is 60 people, this MUST be adhered to. Blue Arena Capacity is 350. Please ensure your visiting teams are aware of capacity limits.
Same goes for REP Facilities you may be attending, if you cannot meet the criteria to enter the building please make alternative plans for your player to get to the game. Please do not disrespect other facilities while representing SMHA.
Also please note that AHS will be sending "test shoppers" randomly to the SRC to ensure our facility is adhering to the public health measures. Keep this in mind as you begin the planning stages of your home tournaments.
