Hello U7 parents,
Please let me take this opportunity to introduce myself as the 2020-2021 mites director.
My name is Bobby Duncan and I’ve been married for almost 10 years to my wife Kristen and we have 2 beautiful children together, Ben who is 5 and Emily who is 3.
I grew up in the Big Valley/Stettler area going to school and playing minor hockey until I was 16. I was fortunate to have my hockey career continue down to Portland Oregon where I played two seasons for the Portland Winterhawks of the W.H.L. I also graduated high school in Portland. My last season in the W.H.L was spilt between the Tri-City Americans and the Red Deer Rebels.
My family and I have recently relocated back to Stettler after living in Calgary for the past 18 years where I worked in the oil and gas industry as a Petroleum Engineering Technologist.
We are excited for the 2020/21 hockey season to start following the Thanksgiving long weekend. We do not have ice times finalized yet, but will be sure to let you know as soon as we do. We will be utilizing the red arena again this year.
In order for us to have a successful season, I am asking that all involved please be aware of the SRC and COVID protocols that we need to adhere to. One of the main changes from past years is that only one parent is allowed (with no siblings) into the arena. This will be difficult for many but, until protocol changes it must be adhered too. Also, during this time, we are only able to accommodate two adults at a time in the dressing rooms to tie skates.
In regards to protocols, there will be more information to follow as things progress.
I'm looking forward to providing your child with a safe and enjoyable hockey season, focusing on the basic hockey fundamentals of skating, passing, puck handling and a whole lot of fun.
