2023 - 24 U9 Schedule & Important Info
Hello Hockey Families,
Our season's start is October 11th.
The first month of the season we are separating the players by first (2016) and second (2015) years. This helps the coaches evaluate the players and ensure we have even skilled teams. Teams will be made, and regular practices/games will start OCTOBER 30th. Please note - the board has a few small delays in making the schedule official, and the times could change slightly, which is OK. The days stay the same.

ALL our practices and games are set to be played in the blue rink.
New parents - when you enter the rink, refer to the TV screen at the start of the hallway and it will state which locker rooms we can use.
Once the season starts, games will be played FRIDAY evenings. We will have 5 U9 teams this year. This means, we will have one team “sitting out” one Friday a month. Practices will be either MONDAY 4:30 PM or WEDNESDAY 4:30 PM, as well as every SATURDAY morning at either 8:15 AM or 9:15AM. Once teams are made, an official schedule will be sent out.
I have received emails of requests for days and players. Those have all been noted. If there is major conflict with the October schedule above, please reach out to me - settlerstormu9@gmail.com
Other Important notes:
Medical Form: Please access the Medical form PDF here. This will need to be completed & submitted back to me either by email stettlerstormu9@gmail.com or in person at the rink.
Volunteer cheques: Each SMHA Family is required to complete 8 Volunteer Hours during the season. You will be required to provide a post dated cheque (Dated: March 31st 2024). Amount for $200. Once we have formed teams you can bring your cheque to your manager. If Volunteer hours ARE Completed, your cheque will NOT be cashed.
Respect in Sports: I have received the list of out of date Respect in Sports and will be emailing anyone who needs to update theirs shortly.
Cash call: There will be a cash call of $120. $100 will go to cover your team's tournament. $20 will go to cover our raffle table at our tournament. IF we make enough at our tournament, the cash calls of $100 will be returned. Cash call can be e-transferred to stettlerstormu9@gmail.com. Each team will be entered into at least one away tournament. There is a potential for a second away tournament, which would result in a second cash call. **Please note, a second tournament will be discussed with team managers and coaches first **
